My name is Tim McNutt and I am the pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. We’re a church in Southern Maryland full of great ideas and passionate about the Lord Jesus Christ. I’ve had a wide range of experiences within the greater church as well as the academic world. I’ve studied at the Clarion University of PA, the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Bowie State University, the Chesapeake Reformed Theological Seminary as well as at the Concordia Theological Seminary (St. Louis). I am also a member of the Society of Biblical Literature.
Mostly I’m interested in Christian discipleship, New Testament Studies, the Historical Jesus, and early Christianity. While these are my personal interests, my real enthusiasm comes across in preaching and teaching these themes in context while asking our twenty-first century questions.
My latest project outside of St. Paul’s was lecturing at the Lutheran Theological College of Uganda on the New Testament and on the Gospel of Matthew (February 2017). I look forward to returning in 2018.
